Happy Long Weekend!

I am SO ready for the long weekend! We will be going on our 3rd annual river trip to the Frio River this weekend. It is going to be a much needed getaway and the first real breath of summer. :) We upgraded our cabin this year. It will have a huge deck and is secluded on 10 acres in the hill country. Love!

Plans or no plans, I hope everyone has a fun, safe, relaxing Memorial Day weekend!

DIY Flower Arrangements

Last Friday we went to the reception site and tackled the flower arrangements. Chelsea and I had absolutely no guidance about how to make a flower arrangement, so it was a little scary. We had ordered flowers in bulk from Sam's and HEB. A few months ago when Hobby Lobby had a 50% off sale on vases we went and bought tons of glass vases in all different sizes.
We cut off the stems and leaves, filled the vases with water, and voilĂ .

We decided to make our arrangements with only one kind of flower rather than a variety, which made it pretty simple. The arrangements that our florist offered us were around $130 per table. Our arrangements cost around $7 each. We put one vase on every table with either purple, cream, or lace fabric underneath and candles and bowls of cream or purple M&M's around them. We had several extra vases left over that we placed elsewhere throughout the venue.
Overall I would say choosing to tackle your own flower arrangements is VERY worth the effort. It only took us around 2 hours to put everything together and was such a money-saver. Just make sure to order your flowers a few weeks in advance (and keep in mind that you will need to pick them up a few days early so the flowers can open up).

Chelsea & Seth are married! Woohoooo!! It was a great weekend full of fun and minimal stress.

It's here it's here!

Well, it's go time! I'm headed to Abilene in a couple of hours and will finally be able to help Mom and Chelsea get things ready. Tomorrow we will be making all of the decorative flower arrangements. None of us are florists... so this should be interesting. :) I'll let you know how it goes! I can't believe my sister is about to be a Mrs.!!!

Little Sister Sunshine

Chelsea and Seth are getting married in THREE days!!! Oh my gosh! It still doesn't seem real to me. I have had such a long week at work because I'm excited and feel like I need to be helping with wedding stuff instead of being stuck in Lubbock. Such is life. This day has been such a long time coming.

I have been somewhat of an emotional basket case this week but I can't seem to figure out why. Poor Ethan. I always have difficulties whenever something big is about to happen in my life. I know that Chelsea and I will always be sisters, but now we will be grown up and married sisters. Sometimes I think that I forget that we will still get to spend quality time together even though we will have husbands. After she moved from Lubbock I cried for several months because we had only lived in different houses for like 10 months of our lives before that. It was so hard! I really hope that someday we'll be able to live in the same town again and that our future children can grow up together. Chelsea is everything that I wish that I could be and more. She is so smart and such a strong person. I can't wait to see what the new chapters of our lives hold.

I love you so much Chelsea! I am so proud of everything that you have become and so happy that you were able to find someone as wonderful as Seth. I know that he will always take care of you and am so thankful for that. I'm looking forward to many more memories to come (including being roommates again when we're both in nursing homes). :)

Our Last Weekend as the Carson Sisters

I had so much fun in Ft. Worth this weekend. It had been way too long since I spent a whole weekend with the girls. It was a great stress reliever!

Friday night we all went to dinner at Gloria's (delicious).
After that we headed out to Pete's Piano Bar. Lubbock has a piano bar and I've never really been a fan, but Pete's was much better. Our friends made Chelsea and I wear veils, which was concerning at first because I hate being in the spotlight, but it turned out fine. They were nice enough to not make us do anything else bachelorette-ish, so I was thankful for that!
The next day we had our lingerie shower/brunch and then we went to the spa! I think it was a relaxing time for all.

We spent Saturday night just taking it easy at the hotel and then we walked around downtown Ft. Worth for a couple of hours. I had forgotten how much fun downtown is.
Thanks so much to everyone who was able to make it. Chelsea and I are so thankful for all of you. We had a WONDERFUL time!!!

Girls Weekend!!

Tomorrow morning I'm heading to Ft. Worth for mine and Chelsea's combined bachelorette party with all of our dearest friends!! I can't wait. We have a lot of fun things planned such as pool time, a brunch, and a spa day.
 {Omni Fort Worth}
We get to stay at the Omni Hotel where one of the girls' boyfriend works. He has been able to help us out with a lot of neat specials such as a luxury suite!!! Ahhh it is going to be a lot of fun!

We got our engagements back from Paul Norman yesterday! I was really excited. Paul was one of my dearest college friends and will also be a groomsman in our wedding. Even though it was raining the day of our pictures, I thought they turned out really well! Here are a few:
Of course, I can't show you my favorites because I'm saving those for the wedding. :)
